An evolutionarily conserved pseudokinase mediates stem cell production in plants.

چکیده
Sequence comparisons, biochemical experiments, and studies with mutants in transgenic plants show that the Arabidopsis protein CORYNE, currently thought to be a kinase that acts as part of a receptor kinase complex, is likely to be a pseudokinase and not a kinase.

Evaluation of the role of mico-RNAs in cardiomyocytes differentiation of mesenchymal stem cells
Stem cells are a good alternative for regenerative medicine because of their characteristics such as self-renewal and differentiation potential. They are classified into different types of stem cells including embryonic stem cells, induced pluripotent stem cells, multipotent stem cells, and ultimately uni-potent stem cells. Mesenchymal stem cells extracted from adult tissues. Due to the lack of...
متن کاملRac1 drives intestinal stem cell proliferation and regeneration
Adult stem cells are responsible for maintaining the balance between cell proliferation and differentiation within self-renewing tissues. The molecular and cellular mechanisms mediating such balance are poorly understood. The production of reactive oxygen species (ROS) has emerged as an important mediator of stem cell homeostasis in various systems. Our recent work demonstrates that Rac1-depend...
متن کاملTribbles in normal and malignant haematopoiesis
The tribbles protein family, an evolutionarily conserved group of pseudokinases, have been shown to regulate multiple cellular events including those involved in normal and malignant haematopoiesis. The three mammalian Tribbles homologues, Trib1, Trib2 and Trib3 are characterized by conserved motifs, including a pseudokinase domain and a C-terminal E3 ligase-binding domain. In this review, we f...
متن کاملTopical Reviews on Target of Rapamycin Signaling Networks The Role of Target of Rapamycin Signaling Networks in Plant Growth and Metabolism
The target of rapamycin (TOR) kinase, a master regulator that is evolutionarily conserved among yeasts (Saccharomyces cerevisiae), plants, animals, and humans, integrates nutrient and energy signaling to promote cell proliferation and growth. Recent breakthroughs made possible by integrating chemical, genetic, and genomic analyses have greatly increased our understanding of the molecular functi...
متن کاملRole of microRNAs in plant and animal development.
Small RNAs, including microRNAs (miRNAs) and short interfering RNAs (siRNAs), are key components of an evolutionarily conserved system of RNA-based gene regulation in eukaryotes. They are involved in many molecular interactions, including defense against viruses and regulation of gene expression during development. miRNAs interfere with expression of messenger RNAs encoding factors that control...
